The 8 Days Uganda Mount Elgon Hiking Adventure Safari is an incredible journey to the second highest peak in Uganda – Wagagai peak at 4321m. Mount Elgon is noted to have the world’s largest mountain caldera, the largest volcanic base, and a famous cross-border attraction between Uganda and Kenya. This adventure trek follows Piswa trail on ascending and Sasa Trail on the descent.
Safari Highlight of the 8 Days Uganda Mount Elgon Hiking Adventure Safari
Day 1: Arrive in Uganda – Entebbe International Airport at 10:40 pm with SN Brussels & transfer to the Hotel
Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls Area. Enjoy the views of the countryside
Day 3: Kapkwata Trailhead – Piswa Camp 11km
Day 4: Piswa Camp – Hunter’s Cave Camp 16km
Day 5: Hunters Cave Camp – Caldera – Mude Camp 13km. But if you wish to visit the hot springs, it will add 6km. The total would be 19km
Day 6: Mude Camp – Wagagai Peak – Mude Camp 18km
Day 7: Mude Camp – Sasa River Camp 5km
Day 8: Sasa River Camp – Budadiri 11km and Transfer back to Kampala
Detailed Itinerary of the 8 Days Uganda Mount Elgon Hiking Adventure Safari
Day 1: Arrive in Uganda – Entebbe International Airport at 10:40pm with SN Brussels & transfer to the Hotel
After your long flight from your country of origin, you land at Entebbe International Airport which is the main point of entry into Uganda if you are coming by flight. Positioned with in a majestic peninsular, the airport is surrounded by fresh waters of Lake Victoria – the world’s second largest fresh water lake, the largest lake in Africa and the largest tropical lake in the whole world.
You are welcomed by soothing fresh breeze and a brightening equatorial sunshine. You secure your Ugandan Visa from the immigration arrival desk at the Airport and then connect to the waiting area where you are courteously welcomed into Uganda by our company representative. Proceed to the Hotel for relaxation and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls Area. Enjoy the views of the countryside
After breakfast at the hotel, after which you team with the driver guide to embark on the drive to Eastern Uganda at 7:00am. You drive through Kampala following Jinja road 80km enjoying the early morning moist sights of the Lugazi sugar cane plantations, the Mabira Forest before arriving in Jinja town which is one of the major cosmopolitan towns in Uganda whose neighborhoods shelters the historical source of the Nile River – the longest in the whole world.
You continue on the drive for 39km to arrive in Iganga exploring the impressive sugar and Rice plantations and the natural swamps with flowing streams. The drive will take you to Mbale town 109km from Iganga and eventually, you proceed to Sipi falls 48km from Mbale. The journey can take you about 5 hours. Spend the afternoon enjoying the views of the falls.

Day 3: Kapkwata Trail head – Piswa Camp 11km
After breakfast start the hike at 2190m following Kapkwata Trail that leads to Piswa Camp at 2850m winding through magnificent views of bamboo, heath and moorland.

Day 4: Piswa Camp – Hunters Cave Camp 16km
After breakfast continue with the climb starting at 2850m and the hike goes via the calderas through amazing columns of Lobelia Elgonensis, the Hot Springs and Suam Gorge before descending to the Hunters cave Camp at about 3870m
Accommodation: Hunters Cave Camp (Full Board)
Day 5: Hunters Cave Camp – Caldera – Mude Camp 13km. But if you wish to visit the hot springs, it will add 6km. Total would be 19km
Hike to the Caldera – the world’s largest mountain caldera before proceeding to Muda Cave. But in case, you wish to make an extension to the hot spring, it can as well be made

Day 6: Mude Camp – Wagagai Peak – Mude Camp 18km
This a special day when you summit Uganda’s second highest peak and forth highest in East Africa. It is believed to have been the highest in Africa before it was reduced to the current level (4321m ASL) by the forces of denudation.
Accommodation: Muda Camp (Full Board)
Day 7: Mude Camp – Sasa River Camp 5km
Follow the Sasa trail to explore the different side of the Mountain.

Day 8: Sasa River Camp – Budadiri 11km and Transfer back to Kampala
Proceed on the descent to mark the end of your great adventure hike to Elgon Mountain. Connect with your driver guide at the trail head in Budadiri to transfer to Mbale.
After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to the Orphanage where you will be spending the rest of the days in great company of the children and family.

- All airport pickups and drop off from Entebbe & back to Entebbe airport
- All activities indicated & mentioned in the itinerary
- A $5.0 per pax off as donation to orphanage homes whose parents’ death are/were as a result of animal conflicts within conservation areas

Booking Terms and Conditions
Reservations
- We require a deposit of 50% of the total tour cost for the clients to safeguard the reservations and gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking permits in case they are involved.
- The balance should be paid 1 month prior to the arrival.
- For bookings coming one month before departure, we shall require the full payment of the tour costs.
- The payment is made by international money transfer to the company bank account in Uganda.
Important Information
- Tour tariffs are based on all known costs and rates of exchange at the time of the transfer, any significant changes beyond will be immediately communicated to our clients.
- We also retain the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. We also retain the right to refuse any person from participating or continuing any tour if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard or inconvenience to other clients and to our environment and ecosystems.
- Please note that in Uganda US dollar banknotes series before year 2006 are accepted only with a low exchange rate, therefore clients are advised to travel to Uganda with more recent banknotes series. The same applies to banknotes below 50 USD.
