Detailed 14 Days Best of Uganda Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi town. Before you reach Masindi Town, you will branch off to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to see the black and white rhinos in their sanctuary. You will later proceed to Masindi town for dinner and overnight at Masindi Hotel.

Day 2: Game drive and Launch cruise

You will wake up early in the morning and proceed to Murchison falls national park. You will start with your chimp trekking in the Kayingo Padibi (Budongo Forest) and other primates such as the grey monkeys, black and white monkeys, the olive baboons and also a variety of birds in the forest.

After this 14 Days Uganda Safari experience you will you will continue into the park visit the top of the falls and later you will check in the lodge and later cross by the ferry to the northern part of the park to take an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile before you go for an evening game drive in pakuba section.

Expect to see animals like Hippos, crocodiles, Water bucks, and a wide variety of bird species. You will also reach the “Devils Cauldron” where you will be able to see clearly the majestic Murchison falls. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge for Luxury/Sambiya River Lodge for Mid-range and Red Chill campsite for budget.

Day 3, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will travel to Kibale Forest national park. The 14 Days Uganda Safari journey will take almost 7 hours’ drive. This journey will take you through the verdant country side of the Albertine Escarpment. Also, you will pass by Hoima homesteads for a clear view of the true African culture.

Lunch will be held en route in Hoima town. Proceed with the journey to Fort portal and later reach Kibale in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimp nest for mid-range/Ndali lodge or primates lodge for Luxury/Chimpanzee guest house for budget

Day 4 of 14 Days Best of Uganda Safari: Chimp trek and Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, you will set out for the morning briefing of the Chimpanzee tracking activity at Kanyachu the Park Headquarters and later after this, you will enter the forest to search for the man’s closest friend the chimps and all trackers must be above 18 years of age. The experience you will get when you are with these chimps, will enable you figure out the similarities between the Chimps and Man.

Besides the chimps, you will also be able to see other primate species such as the grey cheeked mangabeys, baboons and vervet monkeys. Return back to the Lodge for Lunch and in the afternoon go for the afternoon swamp walk in Bigodi.

Here the 14 Days Uganda Safari guide will provide details about the flora and fauna that you will encounter and then after, you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimp nest for mid-range/Ndali lodge or primates lodge for Luxury/Chimpanzee guest house for budget.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route visit the crater regions for scenic viewing. A game drive en route will offer you with views of different wildlife species and also acacia tree. Dinner and overnight stay at Simba Safari camp for budget/Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge or Hippo hill camp for mid-range/ Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari lodge for Luxury

Day 6: Game drive and launch cruise

Early morning g after breakfast, you will set out for the game drive along the Kasenyi track for game viewing including the Buffalo, Elephant, Warthog and Lion. After this, return to the lodge for lunch and later depart for the 2 hours launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

Here you will encounter a close look at the Hippos, crocodiles and other bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Simba Safari camp for budget/Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge or Hippo hill camp for mid-range/ Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari lodge for Luxury

Day 7: Chimp trek in Kyambura(optional) and forest walk

After breakfast, you will go for the morning chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge. You will drive through grassland area, straight away and come transversely to an amazing ravine of tropical rainforest 100 meters deep.

The 14 Days Uganda Safari Rangers will provide you with all the necessary information about the gorge and then later you will return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon participate in the forest walk for bird watching. Dinner and overnight stay at Simba Safari camp for budget/Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge or Hippo hill camp for mid-range/ Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari lodge for Luxury.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector an area commonly known for the rare tree climbing lions. After the game drive in Ishasha, have lunch and later proceed with your journey to Bwindi reaching in the evening.

Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort Camp or Gorilla Forest Camp for Luxury/ Lake Kitandara tented camp or Silverback Lodge for mid-range/Buhoma community Bandas or Wagtail Safari Camp for Budget

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early morning breakfast, gather at Buhoma the Park headquarters for a briefing from the 14 Days Uganda Safari Ranger Guide of Uganda Wildlife Authority. You will be briefed about the Gorilla tracking protocol and once this is done, you will set out with your packed lunch and penetrate the Jungle Forest to search for the rare Mountain Gorillas.

The time taken to track gorillas is unpredictable and it can take 2- 10 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort Camp or Gorilla Forest Camp for Luxury/ Lake Kitandara tented camp or Silverback Lodge for mid-range/Buhoma community Bandas or Wagtail Safari Camp for Budget

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale the place commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa. Relax on Lake Bunyonyi as you wait for the sunset. Dinner and overnight at Bushara Island Camp/Arcadia cottages

Day 11 of 14 Days Best of Uganda Safari: Lake Bunyonyi tour

After breakfast, you will spend the whole day of 14 Days Uganda Safari touring Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy the boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the most Islands on the Lake. Each Island is characterized by different bird species. Dinner and overnight at Bushara Island Camp/Arcadia cottages

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival, you will go for the game drive which will give you insights of animal species like the zebras, topis, elephants, elands, impalas, buffaloes, antelopes and so many others. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo campsite for budge/Arcadia cottages for mid-range/Mantana Luxury tented camp or Mihingo Lodge for Luxury

Day 13 of 14 Days Uganda Safari: Game drive and Canoe Ride on Lake Mburo

After breakfast, set out for the morning game drive to search for the early risers and the animals missed out in the previous game drive. Return back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, participate in a 2 hours boat ride along Lake Mburo.

This will get you close to the crocodiles and hippos. This is the only park where you are not entirely imprisoned in a vehicle, this means that you can get out and have some walk around the park but still surrounding your vehicle. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo campsite for budge/Arcadia cottages for mid-range/Mantana Luxury tented camp or Mihingo Lodge for Luxury

Day 14: Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, you will go for the last game drive with in the park to search for the early risers and also look out for animals missed out in the previous game drive. Later transfer back to Kampala with a brief stopover at the Equator for water experiment and photographs; also stop over at Mpigi (Mpambire drum village) where you can be able to watch the ceremonial drums made out of local materials. Reach Kampala in the afternoon. Proceed to Entebbe for your flight departure back home

Booking Terms and Conditions

Reservations

• We require a deposit of 50% of the total 14 Days Uganda Safari cost for the clients to safeguard the reservations and gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking permits in case they are involved.
• The balance should be paid 1 month prior to the arrival.
• For bookings coming one month before departure, we shall require the full payment of the tour costs.
• The payment is made by international money transfer to the company bank account in Uganda.

Important Information

• Tour tariffs are based on all known costs and rates of exchange at the time of the transfer, any significant changes beyond will be immediately communicated to our clients.
• We also retain the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. We also retain the right to refuse any person from participating or continuing any tour if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard or inconvenience to other clients and to our environment and ecosystems.
• Please note that in Uganda US dollar banknotes series before year 2006 are accepted only with a low exchange rate, therefore clients are advised to travel to Uganda with more recent banknotes series.  The same applies to banknotes below 50 USD.
