Detailed 7 Days Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Uganda Day Trip

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda at Entebbe International Airport

At Entebbe International airport you will meet our company 7 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Tour representative to transfer you to your hotel for check in. You will be briefed about the country and the entire safari and relax at the Hotel.

Stay at Victoria Royal Beach Hotel/ 2 Friends Guest House/ Protea Hotel

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

An early morning drive from Kampala or Entebbe, to Lake Mburo National Park. Passing through Masaka and Lyantonde towns, after visiting the Equator, where you will be standing in both hemispheres at the same time! Enjoy the water experience as you take various photo shoots.

Appreciate the grasslands on the interlocking hills of western Uganda, the herds of animals, banana plantations and of course smiling faces from old and young, who will keep on waving with sounds of “omuzungu how are”! and sometimes “give me money”.

The geographical setting is marvelous and amazing! On arrival in the early afternoon, go for lunch at our lodge of accommodation and then embark on the drive towards the lake for the boat cruise. Here you will see lots of aquatic life like crocodiles, hippos, water birds and various animals. Overnight stay at: Rwakobo Rock Lodge/ Mihingo Lodge/ Mantana Luxury Camp

Meal Plan: Lunch enroute or at the lodge and dinner at the lodge

Day 3: Morning Game walk or a Game drive. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The morning sunrise will be a beautiful wake-up call as you will be able to see it rising from the eastern part of the globe. After your breakfast start a game drive or you may opt to do a game walk to see animals – like the Common Zebras, Impalas, Oribis, Topis, Elands, Buffaloes and birds like scimitar bills, wattled lapwings, Red-backed Scrub Robins, Southern ground horn-bills, Grey-crowned Cranes (Uganda’s national bird) can be seen.

After this game drive, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Overnight and dinner at the lodge: Rushaga Gorilla Valley Lodge/ Ichumbi Lodge

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

This morning you will leave for the park headquarters to have a briefing before embark on Gorilla tracking. Bwindi is a stunning forest that offers dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access for tourists.

While tracking gorillas in Bwindi, look out for animals like the rare golden monkeys, buffaloes, leopards, elephants, bush bucks, black-fronted duikers, and giant forest hogs. The gorilla trekking activity is strenuous but observing and spending time with the mountain gorillas is an unusual and inspiring adventure. They are shy and peaceful- an experience that is unforgettable.

Overnight and dinner at the lodge: Rushaga Gorilla Valley Lodge/ Ichumbi Lodge

Meal plan: Packed lunch as you go for trekking and dinner at the lodge

Day 5: Transfer Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you may have chance of seeing the “Tree-climbing lions”. These big cats have been found resting comfortably on branches of trees especially fig trees. At the same time, you may be able to see the leopard, the fastest antelope – the topi, many birds including the vultures, Meyer’s parrot, etc.

Check in at the lodge for relation as you prepare for lunch. After lunch you may choose to do another evening game drive to increase your chances of seeing more wildlife or relax at the lodge. Overnight stay at Enjojo Lodge/ Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

Day 6: Transfer to Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Do a boat cruise on Kazinga channel

Drive northwards to Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Passing through the woodlands of the park adjacent to Maramagambo forest where you may see lots of rare and common primates like the blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, etc.
Reach in the afternoon and check-in at the lodge and have lunch or drive straight to the jetty of Kazinga channel to start the boat-ride on the channel depending on the time of arrival to the park.

At the Kazinga Channel you will see lots of aquatic life including the giant Nile crocodiles, hippos cooling their bodies, monitor lizards, many water birds like terns, kingfishers, herons, cormorants, etc. sometime we see elephants swimming and cape buffaloes swallowing gallons of water.

After this activity do a hazy game drive as you proceed to the lodge, however there is an option of driving through the craters for a beautiful view of the park and the magical craters or just go straight to the lodge for relaxation.

Overnight at the lodge: Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury)/ Enganzi game lodge (Mid-range)/ Park View Safari Lodge (Mid-range)

Day 7: Do an early Morning game drive and drive to Kampala

Enjoy an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks of this “medley of wonders”. Some of the animals you will see include Cape buffalo, elephants, defassa water bucks, leopard, spotted hyenas, kobs, warthogs, as well as lions and many birds.

After this activity, drive back to Kampala of Entebbe for your flight. Reaching in the evening, you will pass through big towns like Mbarara, Lyantonde and Masaka. Time allowing, you may stop at the equator and do some shopping of souvenirs to take home.

Meal plan: Lunch en-route at Mbarara or at the Equator.

Booking Terms and Conditions

Reservations

  • We require a deposit of 50% of the total tour cost for the clients to safeguard the reservations and gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking permits in case they are involved.
  • The balance should be paid 1 month prior to the arrival.
  • For bookings coming one month before departure, we shall require the full payment of the tour costs.
  • The payment is made by international money transfer to the company bank account in Uganda.

Important Information

  • 7 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Tour tariffs are based on all known costs and rates of exchange at the time of the transfer, any significant changes beyond will be immediately communicated to our clients.
  • We also retain the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. We also retain the right to refuse any person from participating or continuing any tour if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard or inconvenience to other clients and to our environment and ecosystems.
  • Please note that in Uganda US dollar banknotes series before year 2006 are accepted only with a low exchange rate, therefore clients are advised to travel to Uganda with more recent banknotes series.  The same applies to banknotes below 50 USD.
