The park mainly consists of a savannah ecosystem that is home to a wide variety of wildlife. The park is home to more than 100 species of birds, including vultures, Vero eagles, golden eagles, and petrels, as well as common African buffalo, zebra, eland, antelope, Thompson’s gazelle, and baboons.

In the afternoon depart to Lake Naivasha, the highest and most beautiful of the Great Rift Valley lakes. Naivasha is another popular birding spot (over 400 bird species recorded). It is also a popular weekend getaway for Nairobians who come here for sailing, water skiing, and fishing. On this 5 Days Best Kenya Discovery Safari, the Big Wildebeest Migration Kenya Safari

Hell’s Gate National Park

The park is located south of Lake Naivasha, northwest of Nairobi. Hell’s Gate National Park is named after a narrow fissure in the rock that was once a tributary to a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in Riften.

It was founded in 1984. A small national park is known for its wide variety of wildlife and nature. It includes Fisher’s Tower and the Central Pillar and Hell’s Gate Gorge. The national park is also home to three geothermal power plants in Olkaria. The park is equipped with three basic campsites, including Maasai Cultural Center, which provides education about Maasai tribal culture and traditions

It is the only national park that offers bicycle tours, and the park also offers climbing and gorge hiking. It is also recommended as the best place for team building.

Maasai Mara National Reserve

This is a huge game reserve in the semi-arid Narok region of Kenya. It borders the Serengeti National Park in the Mara region of Tanzania. It is named after the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area. Mara means maa found in the Maasai language. The Maasai Mara is world famous for its abundance of wildebeest and wildebeest that come and go from the Serengeti every year during the dry season from July to October.

This is often called the Great Migration. A visit to the reserve is an adventure in a cultural tour with one of the oldest inhabitants of East Africa, the Maasai. This noble tribe is one of the few where we preserve most of our traditions. It features a team of traditional dancers who perform call-and-response dances, perhaps their best-known dance being the Big Wood Dance or rather the Leap Dance.

You can join in the dance as these dexterous male dancers leap higher and higher to the beat of the captivating music that accompanies their dance moves. There are several tourist activities in Masai Mara. These include hot air balloons over the reserve, safaris, nature walks, bird watching, field trips, guided bush walks, and trekking.

Lake Naivasha

A beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by thick papyrus. It is located about 80 kilometers northwest of Nairobi, just outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County. The lake takes its name from the local Massaine Pocha, which means “troubled water”, an apt name as storms and strong winds turn gentle waves into turbulent waves in an instant. The lake is located in an ecologically diverse and picturesque park.

The width of the lake is about 13 kilometers and its average depth is 5 meters. Its area varies with rainfall, from less than 150 to nearly 1,000 square kilometers. The lake dried up at the beginning of the 20th century, but fortunately, heavy rains saved the dried lake bed and gave it a new life. The shores of the lake attract a wide variety of wildlife, including hippos, various bird species, giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, antelopes, zebras, gazelles, and other herbivores, making guided boat trips the most popular activity on the lake.

Other activities around the lake include visiting the Crescent Island Reserve. The island reserve is free of predators, so visitors can safely walk under the guidance of a guide. Adjacent to the lake is Hell’s Gate National Park, whose name is inspired by the red soil, tall stone pillars and cliffs, and rare animal populations. In fact, despite its name, the park is one of the most beautiful places in Kenya. Visitors can cycle along dusty roads, hike through scenic canyons, visit the Olkaria Geothermal Spa and swim in man-made pools.
